my Inspiration

Jewellery is about memories, occasions and wonderful moments in life. I love to create beautiful and unique pieces which reveal and reflect those moments, and the style and personality of the individual who wears them.

I’m inspired by the stories of the people I create pieces for, and by the rugged, beautiful landscape and rich, distinctive culture of Shetland, the islands I have always called home.

I’ve been a professional jeweller since 1994 and I take great pleasure in combining my craft with my love of people, resulting in exquisite creations which are exactly what my clients have dreamt of.

I am priveledged to have worked alongside many mastercraftsmen and women over the years and I am honoured they took the time to pass on so many skills and provide sage advice - they have inspired and supported me, and I hope to continue their lineage.

my story

I began my career in Shetland with Hjaltasteyn and Shetland Jewellery where I began to develop my skills before moving to Glasgow in 1996.

There I studied Jewellery Design, Manufacture and Business at North Glasgow College, Stone Setting at Birmingham Jewellery School and worked as a designer maker for Hodginson the Jewellers in Glasgow.

In 2004, I moved to London to work for Wint & Kidd and created jewellery for clients including Kate Moss and Claudia Schiffer, before starting my business in 2008. Together with making jewellery for my own clients, I worked under commission for several jewellery houses making pieces for clients including members of the British Royal Family.

I returned to Shetland in 2019 to be near nature and my family, and established my workshops studio in the village of Hoswick.

my ethos

Excellence and integrity are core to my business. From the initial design consultation right through to the finished piece, I am committed to hand-crafting 100% of my jewellery right here in Britain, to the highest standards and in a manner that is socially and environmentally responsible as per my Ethics Statement.

I pride myself in providing excellent customer service and take great personal satisfaction from ensuring my clients are delighted with the work I create for them.
