Gem pairing
“Amethyst, a variety of quartz, is said to have properties that promote groundedness, tranquillity, and calm, and counteract impatience.
Tsavorite represents love and friendship and is said to keep partnerships in balance.
Together, the gems provide a balance of serenity and harmony.
’Amethyst’ originates from the Greek word améthystos and literally means “not intoxicated”. The ancient Greeks wore amethyst jewellery and made drinking vessels from it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication, so this could be the perfect ring for a night out!”

earring Design
Inspired by the Art Deco movement's love for symmetry and geometric patterns, these Tutti Frutti hoop halo earrings feature the flamboyant central gems of classic Cocktail Jewellery. The angled hoop-halo link ensures the halos subtly face forward, maximising visual impact. Whether worn alone or paired with other pieces from the Tutti Frutti collection, they make a distinct and timeless statement.
Metalwork
The earrings’ hoops, earwires, halos and baskets were created by forming and shaping metal bullion using traditional mounting methods. These ‘master’ earring components are then used to create moulds from which wax versions are made, and these waxes are cast into 9ct or 18ct recycled gold using the ‘lost wax’ casting method. The component castings are filed, emeried and smoothed before being soldered together using gold solder and a blowtorch.
Gems
The gems are responsibly sourced by a trusted dealer based in Hatton Garden, London who we work closely with to ensure the highest quality and most vibrantly coloured stones. Each central 6mm brilliant cut purple amethyst is claw set and finished with talons and ringed by twenty 1mm green tsavorites individually set into the halo using the thread and grain technique.
Finishing touches
The earrings are then sent for Hallmarking at the Edinburgh Assay Office before returning home to Shetland for a final polish.
The earrings are presented in a high quality satin textured and chamois lined box.
